Come hear the Toi Māori Aotearoa On the Bus: Contemporary Maori Writers Tour when we visit Te Tairawhiti 25–26 November 2009. H.B. Williams Memorial Library will be hosting the touring writers on Wednesday 25 November. 6pm–7pm, admission free.
On the Bus is an entertaining, informative and engaging tour featuring Maori writers reading their work and discussing the art of writing. This year’s visiting writers include poet, novelist and playwright, Apirana Taylor; short fiction and children’s writer, Melanie Drewery; and short fiction and script writer, Kelly Joseph.
On the Bus is an initiative produced by Toi Maori Aotearoa’s literary committees Te Ha and Nga Pou Kaituhi Māori to support and expose leading Māori artists and Māori literature to a wider audience. As part of their tour the writers will also be visiting Manutuke, Tokomaru Bay and Ruatoria.
