Taa Moemoea - Dreamt Impressions
Taa Moemoea - Dreamt Impressions, is an exhibition of works on paper from three contemporary Maori printmakers. Featuring etchings, relief prints and 3-dimensional works from Alexis Neal, woven monoprints from Vanessa Edwards, and woodcuts from Cerisse Palalagi, the exhibition explores cultural identity, memory, layers of knowledge and personal histories. Face Value by Serena Giovanna Stevenson
Expressed through photography and film, Face Value conveys the universal intimacy of Maori facial moko (tattoo) through six personal stories. Seen through the eyes of photographer and multi-media artist Serena Giovanna Stevenson, Face Value draws us into the everyday spaces and profound moments before, during, and after the intensely personal process of ta moko.
