Kōmako—a bibliography of Māori Writing
Kōmako is a comprehensive bibliography of writing by Māori in English which was compiled by Bridget Underhill as part of her PhD at the University of Canterbury.
Bridget worked closely with Te Hā to construct the kaupapa of the project. Bridget was awarded her PHD in 2001 and in September of that year she presented a copy of the bibliography to Te Hā at a wananga at Hongoeka Marae in 2001. Bridget served on the Te Hā committee during and after the project.
In 2012 the Kōmako was digitized. This decision was in line with a growing trend to make Māori resources more accessible through the internet. Moving the bibliography online means that the bibliography can be updated as time passes.
