I’m so excited to be taking on the role of Māori Arts Intern at Artspace Aotearoa, made possible through the MAI Programme. With a background studying Textile Design at Massey University Wellington, I have always had a deep interest in the arts and the vibrant communities that surround them.
This role presents a unique opportunity to immerse myself within a contemporary art gallery space and will allow me to foster connections within a broader creative community. I’m particularly interested in the administrative and organisational side of art gallery management, where I can cultivate meaningful relationships with artists and art professionals alike.
My aspirations for this internship, is to develop my skill set ranging across exhibition installation and logistical planning, volunteer programme facilitation, event budgeting and coordinating operational logistics for art gallery events. I am honoured to join the Artspace Aotearoa whānau and am excited to see where this internship will take me.”
