Ngāi Tāmanuhiri, Rongowhakaata

Kia ora, my name’s Hemaima, and welcome to my interesting world! I hail from a small but mighty place called Te Muriwai on the East Coast, grew up in West Auckland and now I reside in Te Whanganui a Tara. I’m going into my last year of study at Te Herenga Waka, studying towards a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Māori Resource Management and Sociology. 

I’m a creative at heart so I’m very excited to be joining the Toi Māori team, working on the website and creating articles about the works of Dempsey Bob and Lyonel Grant. I’m looking forward to all that I will learn in this position and how my journey within te ao toi will develop. Mauri ora!
