Ngaire is a graduate and current tutor at Toihoukura, School of Māori Visual Art and Design at the Eastern Institute of Technology in Gisborne. 

 

 

Working across a range of media, Ngaire’s compositions explore the ordering structure of whakapapa and celebrate this balancing element in Te Ao Māori.  

 

Her work as an artist and kaiako is also motivated by the desire to uplift wahine Māori through creativity.

As a member of Te Uhi ā Mataora, Ngaire practised tā moko at the 2022 Aotearoa Art Fair, The Cloud, Tāmaki Makaurau on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November, 10 am – 5 pm.
