This tukutuku utilises the pihapihamango lashing technique to formulate its Mumu (chequered) design. It explores negative and positive space through colour, design and materials to portray its kaupapa of ‘te ao, te pō – light and darkness – as ‘one’, interconnected, balanced, and indicating human nature and our natural world.
