The linear marks on the black surface explore the wānanga space, where the story of the summer star Pout?-te-Rangi is shared across diverse tribal cosmologies. The path of a star moving from one edge of the horizon to another becomes a marker of whanaungatanga and the exchange of kōrero in the night sky. Inspired by the whare wānanga of Tai Rāwhiti, experiences of seeing and sharing kai in Te Poho-o-Rawiri Whare Tupuna and visiting Rongopai Marae further ignited the imagination.
