I’ve chosen the title Deconstructed #1 to reflect a shift, not a dismantling, but a reworking.
This piece is a round vessel made of harakeke paper, featuring a concaved tukutuku pattern on its surface. It rests against a plain wooden block, with a matching indent where the two connect. The tukutuku pattern continues across both forms, exploring how traditional techniques can be used in a contemporary way.
